Who we are looking for

A Director of Sales who wants to join our growing sales team. Someone who wants to hunt down the leads and close 6- and 7- figure deals. Someone who enjoys the thrill of prospecting and the rush of satisfaction at deploying a platform that solves real problems for real clients. We’re looking for a journalist who can ask the right questions and a detective who can find the answers. A people-person, an innovator, a process builder. We need a Director, Sales who is excited to come on board and join us as we change the way an industry does business.

You are a successful software sales executive, but you want to work for a company that is solving real-world business problems. Who will you be working with?

Dan Farmer, our VP Retail Solutions, joined Unata a year ago. He left a management consulting corporation where he focused on retail strategy and innovation, to join us because he saw the potential in the opportunity to help grow the company. His atypical background makes him a unique source of guidance and mentorship. Dan is looking for someone who has an opinion on things and wants to lend some expertise to the sales process. He wants someone to be his right-hand as he takes on an even bigger strategical role. He has the retail experience, you need to bring the sales talent.

What you will do:

  • Hunt. You will be responsible for finding, selling to and bringing on board large multi-year enterprise deals.
  • Consult with clients. This is a chance to transform an industry one client at a time. You will gain deeper insights into the client’s business. By doing so, you will anticipate their needs and ensure we are developing solution features to support their business.
  • Collaborate with internal teams. You will work closely with the Business Development and Marketing team to move prospects through the funnel. You will contribute to proposals and work with Engineering to prepare for product demos and trade shows.
  • Whatever it takes. Our timing for this platform is perfect. You will focus on driving growth and increasing adoption. We 100% believe this is what retailers should be doing. It’s an easy sell because it makes sense - and money.
  • Travel. You will travel to client sites one or two days a month for demonstrations and to close deals.

What you have:

  • Education and experience. You have a post-secondary degree and 3-5 years B2B full cycle sales experience. You have experience managing complex deals with multiple stakeholders and engaging with senior leaders and analysts. Bonus points if you have an understanding of the retail and e-commerce space.
  • A proven success record. You have blown your quotas out of the water consistently and you get an adrenaline rush every time you close the deal. Your achievements go beyond quotas, extending into highly satisfied clients who trust your expertise.
  • Motivation and drive. You get a thrill from pursuing the close which also means you are calm under pressure and can make sound decisions quickly. The confidence in our product and our company just makes it easier for you.
  • Sales methodology and innovation. You believe in following a process because it works and changing it up when it doesn’t. You want to contribute to building tactics and refining our processes for repeatable success.
  • Communication. You have outstanding presentation skills. Your consulting approach in meetings gains the trust of those listening to you. Your written and verbal one-on-one communication skills - including the ability to listen and provide a true solution to a client’s unique issues - are why you consistently exceed quota.
  • Passion. You are genuinely interested in new ideas and new technology. You want to change an industry.
